20 plus years and counting of coaching all skill levels of basketball and all age groups. Coach David Knight , started coaching in his mid 20s for various programs and finally established Finish Strong basketball back in 2012.
Playing Career : Coach Knight started his own basketball playing career from the Grassroots level up to College .. and had some success along the way.
D.Knight’s coaching philosophy: Is to create an atmosphere of pride and to teach each player the importance of a positive attitude, is to play with passion , play hard , learn with an open mind , build confidence, character, knowledge, goal setting, and how these factors apply to life, the classroom and to athletics , and must have fun through the process.
For 23 years, my mission has been simple: teach athletes how to compete at the highest level and mentor them to finish strong, both in sports and in life.
Having coached across every major youth development level—including grade school, high school, Provoncial, and elite AAU circuits (ages 10–17) for both boys and girls—I understand what it takes to build winning cultures from the ground up. Over two decades on the sidelines, I have successfully led teams to multiple City Championships on both the boys’ and girls’ sides, as well as a Junior Boys Provincial Championship.
In 2012, I founded Finish Strong Basketball to channel that championship blueprint into a dedicated training environment. At the academy, we bridge the gap between raw potential and elite execution. We specialize in high-repetition, detail-oriented skill development, focusing on elite shooting mechanics, game-speed layup variations, tight ball handling, and playing through physical contact. We don’t just run drills; we build intelligent, resilient basketball players who know how to produce under pressure.
